Obwohl die Übernahme durch Toshiba noch nicht abgeschlossen ist, präsentiert OCZ auf der CES neue Speichermedien. Demnach soll bereits Ende Januar die OCZ Vertex 460 zur Verfügung stehen.
Die 2,5 Zoll SSD verfügt über einen Sata 6Gb/s Anschluss und soll eine Lesegeschwindigkeit von bis zu 450 MB/s bzw. eine Schreibgeschwindigkeit von bis zu 550 MB/s erreichen. Die Kombination aus Flash-Speicher von Toshiba (19-nm MLC-NAND) und dem OCZ eigenen Indilinx Barefoot 3 M10 Controller, sollte sich positiv auf die Leistung und Haltbarkeit auswirken. Mit diesen Argumenten konnte OCZ bisher nicht punkten. OCZ's neue SSD bietet Speicherkapazitäten von 120, 240 und 480 Gigabyte.
Einen offziellen Preis gibt es bisher nicht, obwohl die Vertex 460 bereits in 2 Wochen erscheinen soll. Laut OCZ soll der Preis zwischen der Vertex 150 und 450 liegen.
